In this two afternoon workshop (March 15th from 12:30-3:30 and March 22nd, from 1230-330), participants will learn the one needle method of Indigenous beadwork and create a pansy centrepiece and bolo tie. This flower is based on one in the ancestor pillow case formerly owned by Harriet Inkster McMurray, currently housed at Seven Oaks House Museum. Connecting this workshop to a grandmother piece creates a living link between Indigenous art forms practiced by our ancestors to the present. Participants will learn the history of beadwork and its relationship with Indigenous Peoples in Manitoba. Link to register below!
